Garden
of Stone series which was created in 1991 during my numerous trips around
the USSR (Yalta, Odessa, Cheboksary, Kaliningrad, Moscow etc.) is a
collection of endangered species of mass propaganda -- anonimous sculpture
compositions (often with allegoric undertone) made from gypsum. Scattered
up and down the country -- in gardens, parks, yards of different Soviet
towns -- they continue to linger out their days and demonstrate inviability
of Soviet mythes with their half-ruined state.
